
The Minnesota Crop Improvement Association welcomes Gabriel Jordan-Huffman to the Organic Services staff! He joined the department in January 2025 as an organic certification specialist/inspector.
Gabriel earned his B.S. in sustainable agriculture and food systems (organic and local production track) from the University of Minnesota in May 2024.
Gabriel has a strong background in soil sciences and appreciates the beneficial impact of organic agriculture on soil health. Gabriel worked in the UMN’s industrial hemp lab as a research assistant. There, he planted hemp in the field, learned organic hemp cultivation, and did greenhouse maintenance. In addition, he worked as a research assistant in the UMN’s Luby Fruit Research Lab, where he performed phenotypic data collection and assisted in running fruit sample preparation for sensory analysis. Gabriel’s work experience also includes having worked as a shift leader at Anoka Ramsey Farm & Gardens.
