The Minnesota Crop Improvement Association publishes materials for its membership and the agricultural community. All of the publications listed here are available in hard copy—simply call or email the office with your request.
MCIA’s annual Directory (formerly known as the Seed Directory) is published every fall. The Directory contains listings of seed, products, and services, as well as information regarding MCIA’s programs and producer contacts. A directory of MCIA members was first published in 1906 and a list of those with inspected and approved seed began in 1912.
The Minnesota Seed Grower
MCIA’s newsletter, the Minnesota Seed Grower, is published quarterly. The first issue was published in April of 1928. Archives are kept at the main office in Saint Paul. If you would like to see back issues older than those posted in the online archive, please contact us.
MCIA publishes the monthly bulletin Samplings to keep members well informed.
Minnesota Certified Seed Guide
Another resource we recommend to our members is the Minnesota Certified Seed Guide, a collaborative effort of MCIA and the Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station. This annual publication lists seed producers and includes MAES crop trial results. It is published by Minnesota Farm Guide. The latest edition can be found here.
